Team-First Project Management Training for Organizations

Equip project managers to lead with clarity, confidence and ownership.

Developed from more than 30 years of combined consulting and project delivery experience, Team-First Project Management helps organizations strengthen project leadership, improve collaboration, accelerate decision-making and even deliver complex projects with greater confidence.

Unlike traditional project management courses, in our training participants apply every concept to their own live projects throughout the programme, leaving with practical ways to move their projects forward—not just pages of notes.

Project managers spend more time collecting updates than driving decisions

Meetings generate discussion but not clear decisions or ownership

Stakeholders receive information without gaining clarity

Teams work in silos, with limited visibility of dependencies and risks

Risks are identified but not escalated early enough

Projects lose momentum because alignment is never fully established

Team-First is not an academic methodology. It is the framework Ehlers Group uses to train its own consultants and support clients delivering complex transformation, integration, separation and IT projects. It complements established methodologies such as Agile, Kanban, PRINCE2® and PMBOK® by strengthening the leadership behaviours that determine whether those methodologies succeed in practice.

While many project management courses focus on certification preparation and teach concepts, Team-First Training helps participants apply concepts immediately. Every participant attends with a real project from their organization, and throughout the programme they develop practical project deliverables, stakeholder approaches, communication plans and project structures that they will continue using after the training.

To reinforce implementation, participants also join small-group coaching sessions after the training, where they discuss progress, share experiences and receive guidance on applying the learnings in their day-to-day projects.

Leadership is not learned by watching slides.
It develops through discussion, feedback, collaboration and practical application.

That’s why every Team-First programme is delivered onsite in small groups.
Participants challenge ideas, solve real problems together and continuously adapt the framework to their own projects and organizational context. The classroom creates the energy, engagement and interaction that make lasting behavioural change possible.
