Team-First Project Management Training for Organizations
Equip project managers to lead with clarity, confidence and ownership.
Developed from more than 30 years of combined consulting and project delivery experience, Team-First Project Management helps organizations strengthen project leadership, improve collaboration, accelerate decision-making and even deliver complex projects with greater confidence.
Practical, classroom-based training built around your teams’ real projects.
Unlike traditional project management courses, in our training participants apply every concept to their own live projects throughout the programme, leaving with practical ways to move their projects forward—not just pages of notes.
Projects rarely fail because people don’t work hard
Do any of these challenges sound familiar? Then Team-First Training was designed for your organization:
The Team-First philosophy
Organizations are moved by people, and so are projects
Projects succeed when people understand the goal, take ownership, communicate openly and work together toward a common outcome.
Built by consultants. Delivered by practitioners.
Team-First is not an academic methodology. It is the framework Ehlers Group uses to train its own consultants and support clients delivering complex transformation, integration, separation and IT projects. It complements established methodologies such as Agile, Kanban, PRINCE2® and PMBOK® by strengthening the leadership behaviours that determine whether those methodologies succeed in practice.
Participants learn from experienced practitioners who combine project delivery, leadership and teaching experience, bringing practical insight from real consulting environments – not hypothetical case studies.
Learn. Build. Apply.
While many project management courses focus on certification preparation and teach concepts, Team-First Training helps participants apply concepts immediately. Every participant attends with a real project from their organization, and throughout the programme they develop practical project deliverables, stakeholder approaches, communication plans and project structures that they will continue using after the training.
Instead of returning to work wondering where to begin, participants leave with work already completed and a clear action plan for implementation.
To reinforce implementation, participants also join small-group coaching sessions after the training, where they discuss progress, share experiences and receive guidance on applying the learnings in their day-to-day projects.

What participants gain
After completing Team-First Training, project managers are better equipped to:

Why we deliver Team-First in the classroom
Leadership is not learned by watching slides.
It develops through discussion, feedback, collaboration and practical application.
That’s why every Team-First programme is delivered onsite in small groups.
Participants challenge ideas, solve real problems together and continuously adapt the framework to their own projects and organizational context. The classroom creates the energy, engagement and interaction that make lasting behavioural change possible.
Participants’ feedback
Our Team-First programme already brought together professionals from eight countries.
This week, I had the opportunity to attend a 4-day Project Management training — and it has truly been one of the most meaningful learning experiences for me so far.
The entire training was centered around the “Team’s First Project Management” framework by Ehlers Group. It’s core belief is simple yet powerful: projects succeed when teams come first.
This week strengthened my foundation in project management and reminded me that great projects are built by empowered teams. Looking forward to putting these learnings into action.
What stood out to me most was the shift in mindset — from managing tasks to enabling people. The sessions reinforced that successful project management is not just about timelines and deliverables, but about clarity, collaboration, communication, and leadership craftsmanship.
Through interactive discussions, practical exercises, and real-world simulations, we explored what it really means to think and act like a Project Manager — balancing structure with empathy, data with intuition, and strategy with execution.
A sincere thank you to Silvia Gonzalez Ehlers for delivering the training in such an engaging and practical way. The energy, clarity, and hands-on approach made the learning experience truly impactful.
Also thankful to the entire group for the engaging discussions, teamwork, and collaborative learning environment. Learning together always makes the journey more impactful.
Looking forward to applying these learnings in real-time projects and scenarios to strengthening delivery, structure, and value through effective PMO practices
